 Exhaust manifold, High flow cast tubular Manifold, stock location mounted turbo on longitudinal 1.8T engine found on, 1996 to 2005 AudiA4 and VW Passat, Compatible with all K03, K04, and stock location mounted ATP Eliminator Series GT2X, GTRS, GT28R, GT2871R. ** Includes, all new nuts, bolts, and the new gasket shown for easy installation. Benefits of this upgrade: The stock manifold provides an acceptable level of performance and reliability for STOCK boost and HP levels. Virtually every manifold we have removed from a 1.8T engine, old or even relatively new, that has had either a chip or more extensive exhaust mods have had developed a crack due to excessive heat. It usually starts with a "hairline" crack and the problem goes from there. Customers who have attempted to "port" a stock manifold is hard pressed to find a core unit that has not developed a crack. In attempt to save on production costs, the VAG factory built a VERY thin wall into the stock unit making it very weak under higher than stock HP applications. The ATP replacement manifold was designed and built with no expenses spared and is guaranteed to NEVER crack for the life of the use on the vehicle. The ATP replacement manifold is also built to flow much much better than the stock unit. Overall flow has been improved more than 50% and virtually ALL of the restrictions built into the stock unit has been removed in this replacement design, resulting in more HP and torque. The additional benefit of using this high flow, thicker wall, cast unit over the stock unit is the ability to improve breathing at the exhaust ports as well as providing the necessary exhaust volume to maintain high boost/high RPM operation. The free flowing design also helps keep the EGT (Exhaust Gas Temperature) and subsequently engine temps down to allow more timing and less detonation.
